Designing and building a responsive restaurant website for local food discovery
Project Overview
KhoijBep.se is a responsive WordPress website built for a local restaurant. The client needed a simple website where customers could browse the menu, check prices, and continue to the restaurant’s ordering page. Beyond the initial request, I also structured key restaurant information such as opening hours, location, business details, and contact information to make the website more useful for customers.
My role
As Product Designer and Developer, I designed the UX/UI in Figma and built the custom WordPress theme — including an editable menu via ACF, bilingual support (Polylang), and Google Maps integration.
Client Request
Show the menu online
Customers needed to browse dishes, descriptions, and prices before ordering.
Guide customers to order
The website needed to connect visitors to the restaurant’s existing ordering page.
Work on mobile and desktop
Customers should be able to check the menu easily from any device.
From Request to Launch
Expanded the website scope
Reviewed similar restaurant websites to identify useful customer information beyond the initial menu request, such as opening hours, location, map, and business details.
Defined the content structure
Organized the website around menu browsing, ordering, restaurant information, contact, and location.
Designed in Figma for approval
Created the visual direction and responsive layouts so the client could review the website before development.
Built and launched in WordPress
Customized the WordPress site with responsive layouts and basic WCAG-informed accessibility checks.

The website receives around 1.8K visits per month after launch.
